Picked a flower outside El Torito. Goodies provided by loving aunties.
(The box has a BIG bag of m&ms)
Some kids look for colourful eggs on Easter.
Mine picks weeds dandelions.
Showing me his 'flower.'
It's a weak smile but he wasn't feeling well.
Offering me an actual flower!
About to blow...
...the wind did some of it...
...the slobber did the rest :P
His basket from Tia Lily.
Eggs contain.... m&ms of course!
*BEST* part of the basket.
Playing with his cousin's drums.
Basket from me. Yes, the third basket.
And yes, more m&ms.
And yes, more trains.
*We are atheist and thus don't actually celebrate Easter, Christmas, or the such. We do the the commercialised version, like is popular for Valentine's day, as a mere excuse for gifts, food, and family. Our day consisted of brunch at a restaurant followed by time with family. No, I do not want those candy filled things being called 'spring spheres.' No bunnies this year, but definitely next. I will teach him that these are holidays derived from a religion which we celebrate in our own way just for the fun.
My kid actually owns a bible (kid version with pictures some church gave to him. Came with stickers and colouring pages... ummm ok) which he flipped through and said, "It's an amazing book!" and started 'reading' it with "Once upon a time." I think it's on his bed still.
And I have the crucifix that was on my grandmother's casket.
So, I am not anti religion as the word 'atheist' usually leads people to believe. I have my own views on what religion is, in general, and choose not to follow any. This is what I will teach and when he is older he can go exploring the world of religion, if he chooses to.
