Going Out With a Bang

Tomorrow is the first day of November.  Tomorrow Nicholas will be 5 years old.  As October closes (finally!) I sit back and look at the events of this month.

Destruction.

Nicholas has always been a well behaved child (for his age) and never really been destructive.  He has broken and destroyed things before but mostly in play or not knowing that he was causing damage.  This month has had more destruction than any other time in his life.

Pictures were edited to highlight damage

Ripped the screen.  For no reason and continued to inflict damage after being told not to.

Wrote on the wall.  Again.  After all crayons were confiscated and banned.
He obviously has a secret stash...

He broke one blind and pulled down several.  Notice that they are now upside down,
he pulled them and broke the tab that held them up.  Did this twice.

Ripped the cover of the mini box spring for his bed...

AND broke two boards of the box spring.

This is AFTER clean up.  Paint and chocolate... chocolate will be mentioned later.

Something down the drain.  This is something that didn't go all the way down so I wonder
what made it down...

Packing peanuts shredded... many times over and over again.

Bed rail.

Not Pictured:

  • He opened and spilled a can of powdered chocolate for making chocolate milk.  No, he did not want to make some.  He merely spread it all over the kitchen, train table, bathroom, and himself.  The whole can.
  • Support slats on the loft bed.  Broken, won't stay on.
  • His toe.  He got a big cut on it and couldn't quite tell me how.  Seems to be better now.
  • Food.  He turned down the dial in the refrigerator all the way down.  I don't know how long it was turned off before I figured it out.  Ice cream melted in the freezer and dripped down into the fridge.
This is just in one month.  I fear how much this five year old is going to cost...
