Funny, I am typing this at work, with about 13 minutes before I start.
I told someone, when asked how I liked my new job, that I'd probably love it, find it perfect, if I didn't have a three year old. They were perplexed. So let me go through this again.
The job itself is what I love doing most: typing. All day. LOTS of work, never a 'down' time so the day breezes by rather than crawl. The people are nice. There is AC and a well stocked break room. My job is fairly easy.
However, all day all I think about is wanting to be with Nicholas. I think about reading (reciting, really) Goodnight Moon and There Is A Nightmare In My Closet. Having him talk to me, cuddle, do stuff. I don't even get the luxury of changing him myself anymore. No 'YAY' after going to the potty. Yes, life with him 27/7 can get frustrating, but it is the best life. So I hate it here. ABSOLUTELY HATE IT.
I hate having to get my baby out of bed so early in the morning. The weather is warm right now but what about when it gets cold? When it is raining? I'm going to get soaked along with my half sleeping baby in my arms on our way to the car. Then I am going to get soaked during the 15 minute walk to work after getting dropped off. If I didn't have Nicholas I'd be taking the bus the whole way here, the bus stop is about 20 feet away from the covered walkway that leads to my office.
I hate having to wake up at 5:30am just so that I can get here before 8am. I live about 15 minutes away by car/30 by bus. In high school I lived easily three times further from school yet got up at 5:30 and made it in before 7:30!! I am exhausted! I get very little sleep this way. If I didn't have Nicholas I could wake up at 6:15 and be here on time.
We get home around 5:30, Nicholas should be in bed by around 9. 3.5 hours. That's Misty Island twice. I know, it's all he wants. And definitely not enough time for us.
Weekends are spent between the grocery store and laundry. FUN!... if you're dead.
And no, this doesn't mean I don't want Nicholas, it means I DON'T WANT THIS FUCKEN JOB!
